After a seven day jury trial, Cheryl Cardelli and Terence Durkin received a unanimous defense verdict in Wayne County Circuit Court. Plaintiff alleged she suffered buttock ulcers due to nursing negligence. The defense was that plaintiff suffered the normal progression of a deep tissue injury due to her poor vasculature, prolonged immobilization during two extensive surgeries at the beginning of her hospitalization, her co-morbidities, and clinical status.

Cheryl Cardelli has focused her litigation practice on the defense of employers and health care providers. She has litigated cases in state and federal courts in Michigan, Indiana, Iowa, Massachusetts, and Tennessee. Over the years, she has given presentations on a variety of topics, including best employment practices, health information management and reducing risk.

Terence Durkin is a principal with the firm. His practice focuses on defense of hospitals and healthcare providers in professional malpractice litigation. He joined the firm in 2002, after clerking for the Honorable Thomas S. Eveland of the 56th Circuit Court.
