On January 29, 2021, the Government of Canada announced a new set of restrictions on international travel to prevent the transmission of new COVID-19 variants in Canada. All flights have been suspended between Canada and Mexico and Caribbean countries from January 31, 2021 through April 30, 2021.
Beginning midnight February 3, 2021, all scheduled commercial passenger flights arriving from the United States, Mexico, Central America, the Caribbean, and South America will be funneled into the following four Canadian airports: Montréal-Trudeau International Airport, Toronto Pearson International Airport, Calgary International Airport, and Vancouver International Airport. Private/business and charter flights from all countries must also use only those four airports.
Although not yet implemented, the Government of Canada will soon require all travelers arriving by air to book three nights in an approved hotel and take a molecular COVID-19 test upon arrival, at the travelers own expense. Please note, it has also been proposed that travelers seeking land entry will soon require a negative COVID-19 molecular test within 72 hours before entry. Limited exceptions to the testing requirement for land entries are expected. Additional details will be provided as these last two policies are formally implemented.
